Ingredients for the recipe:
- 1 pack (340 g) whole grain pita bread
- 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
- 1 tbsp. toasted white sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme, plus more for garnish
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp ground sumac
- 2 teaspoons coarse salt
- 1.5 tsp crushed black pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Preheat oven to 220°C.
Stack the pitas on top of each other and cut into 6 triangles with a sharp serrated knife. Place the triangles in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil. Use metal tongs to toss the pitas until evenly coated. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, thyme, oregano, sumac, salt, and pepper. Toss to distribute the seasonings evenly. - Transfer the pita bread pieces to a baking sheet and spread them out evenly so they brown evenly. Bake in the oven until golden brown, 5-7 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
