Layered cheese donuts - detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • Two packs of puff pastry, 225 g each.
  • Flour for rolling out
  • 6 slices of cheese
  • Canola or peanut oil, for frying
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 3 strips crispy bacon, coarsely chopped

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Open one package of dough and place it on a lightly floured surface. Roll the dough into a large rectangle. Roll out the second package of dough to the same size and thickness.
  2. Place the cheese slices in a single layer on top of one rectangle of dough. Place the second rectangle of dough on top of the cheese slices. Fold the right side of the dough one-third to the center and do the same on the left side to fold the dough. Fold the dough again. Using a knife, cut out 4 round donuts.

  3. Pour enough oil into a heavy skillet to cover the bottom by 7 cm. Heat the oil to 170°C (350°F) using a thermometer. Fry. donuts Fry in batches until golden brown, about 1 minute per side. Transfer to a wire rack.
  4. In a small bowl, combine mustard and honey. Spread the tops of the donuts with honey mustard and sprinkle with crumbled bacon, if desired. Serve immediately.
