A great way to make delicious and quick gnocchi. Boiled potato dumplings are tossed with a spicy creamy sauce, sprinkled with a generous amount of grated cheese, and grilled in the oven until the cheese is melted and golden brown. For this recipe, use an oven-safe skillet, such as a cast iron one. Serve the cheese gnocchi sprinkled with green onions.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • One package (500 g) of potato gnocchi
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cups grated Gruyere

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Cook one package (500 g) of potato gnocchi according to package directions. Set aside 1/4 cup of the cooking water and discard the rest. In an oven-safe skillet, combine 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 crushed garlic clove, 1/4 teaspoon of coarse salt, some freshly ground black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Simmer for 5-8 minutes. Add the gnocchi and thin with some of the cooking water if the sauce is too thick.
  2. Sprinkle with 0.5 cups of grated Gruyere. Grill in the oven until golden brown, 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with finely chopped chives.
