A banana split is a popular American dessert consisting of a banana cut in half, served with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, sweet sauce, and a cherry. This dessert was invented in the early 20th century in a drugstore in Latrobe, Pennsylvania (at the time, drugstores also served as cafeterias) and became a favorite student treat, quickly gaining popularity beyond the city limits. Today, there are many variations of the banana split, and it's also used in cakes and pastries. We suggest grilling a banana and serving it warm with a scoop of ice cream.

Recipe:
Cut a small piece from the curved side of 4 unpeeled bananas so they stand up straight, then make a deep slit down the center of each banana from the inside through the peel. Arrange them on 4 sheets of foil. Open the inside slit of each banana and brush with melted butter, sprinkle with sugar, and chopped dark chocolate (30 g).
Roll up the foil and grill the bananas on high for about 6-8 minutes, until the chocolate melts (it's okay if the peels burn). Open the peels and spoon a scoop of ice cream onto each banana, top with whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry.
