A Banana Split parfait in a clear glass looks more impressive and is also lower in calories: the ice cream melts on top of the fruit and nuts and slowly drips down, so you only need one small scoop per serving. This parfait is loaded with pineapple and banana, which, together with walnuts, strawberry ice cream, and a touch of melted chocolate, create a stunning flavor bouquet.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 60 g semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 medium bananas
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 of a small pineapple, diced, core removed (about 1 cup)
  • 4 scoops of 1/4 cup strawberry ice cream
  • 4 pitted cherries
  • Special equipment: 4 parfait, wine, or whiskey glasses

We recommend

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place the chocolate in a small microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring, until smooth.
  2. Slice the bananas into 0.5 cm thick rounds and toss them with most of the walnuts in a medium bowl. Reserve a few for garnish.

  3. Assembling the parfait:

Divide the pineapple chunks evenly among 4 glasses. Top with bananas and walnuts. Then top with a scoop of strawberry ice cream and drizzle with melted chocolate. Sprinkle with the remaining walnuts and garnish each glass with a cherry.
