Time: 2 hours 35 minutes
Complexity: easily
Quantity: 24 pcs.

True to its name, these cookies are made with three types of chocolate. First, melted dark chocolate is stirred into the dough, giving the cookies their distinctive color. Then, dark and white chocolate chips are added separately for a rich flavor and texture that chocoholics adore. A pinch of ground cloves adds a distinctive aroma, transforming them into a truly Christmasy treat. After baking, the cookies develop a dense crust, but underneath, they remain soft and chewy, deliciously delicious.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and cloves. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove the pan from the heat, add the dark chocolate, and set aside to melt.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla, then slowly whisk in the chocolate. Stir in the flour mixture until a loose dough forms. Do not overmix. Stir in the chocolate chips. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.

  3. Preheat oven to 175°C (or 160°C if using a convection oven).
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Form the dough into balls approximately 5 cm in diameter or 45 g each, and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 5 cm apart. Bake until the cookies are puffed on the surface but still moist in the center, 13-15 minutes, or 12 minutes fan-assisted. Cool on a wire rack.
