The easiest and quickest way to prepare delicious artichokes is to bake them as a gratin with a crispy crust. This recipe uses frozen artichoke hearts. The hearts are defrosted and sautéed in olive oil with spices, then briefly simmered in a mixture of red wine and chicken broth. Transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle with a mixture of breadcrumbs, butter, and Parmesan cheese, and bake until crispy. The whole thing takes less than half an hour! A great side dish for Italian-style meat.
