Perfect potato gratin

This recipe for the perfect potato gratin is perfect for a special occasion side dish. The casserole is delicious and incredibly easy to make. Place finely diced potatoes in a gratin dish and pour the creamy mixture over them. As they bake, the creamy mixture turns into a creamy sauce that coats and melds with each potato. A few minutes before they're ready, sprinkle the gratin with plenty of grated cheese and toast it in the oven until it's coated in a delicious cheesy crust. Serve the gratin with meat or as a delicious standalone dish.
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp (30 g) butter, softened
- 8 large Russet Burbank potatoes, washed thoroughly
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 2 cups grated cheddar
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced (white and light green parts only)
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.

- Step 1
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease a large baking dish with butter. Step 2
- Cut the potatoes into sticks, then cut the sticks into cubes. Step 3
- In a bowl, whisk together the cream and milk. Add flour, salt, and a pinch of pepper. Whisk until the flour is incorporated into the cream mixture. Place the diced potatoes in the prepared baking dish and pour the cream mixture over them. Step 4
- Cover the pan with foil and bake for 20-30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes. Just before serving, sprinkle with grated cheese and return to the oven for 3-5 minutes until the cheese melts and begins to bubble. Sprinkle with green onions and serve hot. Creamy, dreamy, and divine.
