The Tequila Sunrise, or "Rising Sun," is a stunning combination of tequila, orange juice, and grenadine syrup that has become a classic. It's loved for its refreshing, citrusy, and sweet flavor, as well as its distinctive color gradation from red to yellow, reminiscent of sunrise. The cocktail itself lifts the spirits and evokes a sense of vacation and summer. Garnish each glass with an orange wedge and a maraschino cherry and enjoy.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 45 ml tequila
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 20 ml of grenadine
  • Orange slice, for garnish
  • A quality maraschino cherry, such as Luxardo, for garnish

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Pour tequila and orange juice into a highball glass filled with ice. Slowly pour the grenadine over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass until it settles to the bottom.
