The thick and delicious caramel of your dreams can be made much easier than you imagined. The recipe is so simple, you'll likely never go back to store-bought caramel! It's made with just five natural ingredients—you just add everything to the pan and stir on the stovetop until it thickens. You'll need brown sugar, 10% cream, butter, natural vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt for a richer, more balanced caramel flavor. Store the caramel sauce in a jar in the refrigerator for easy use, chilled, warmed, or at room temperature.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cups low-fat cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine the brown sugar, cream, butter, and salt in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Cook, stirring gently, for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce thickens. Add the vanilla and cook for another minute to thicken further. Turn off the heat, let the caramel sauce cool slightly, and pour into a jar. Cool completely and refrigerate.
