Linguine pasta is served in a light dry white wine sauce with clams. It's delicious, just like in the best Italian restaurants, yet surprisingly simple to prepare with minimal ingredients. Besides the pasta, white wine, and fresh clams, you'll need a little high-quality olive oil, garlic, red pepper, and fresh herbs. The flavor is just the right amount of piquant and spicy. Serve with grilled bread to soak up any remaining linguine sauce.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 450 gr. dry linguine or spaghetti pasta
  • 36 small clams, washed with a brush
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped garlic
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped parsley
  • Grilled bread, for serving (optional)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add generous salt. Cook the pasta until al dente (tender but still firm).
  2. While the pasta is cooking, prepare the clam sauce. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add the garlic and cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.

  3. Add the wine and water and increase the heat to high. Add the clams, cover, and cook, shaking the pan occasionally, until all the clams have opened, about 6 minutes.
  4. Drain the pasta and transfer it to the clam sauce. Sprinkle with parsley and toss. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. To fry breadPreheat a grill pan over medium heat. Brush both sides of the bread with olive oil. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.

    Place the dish and bread on warm plates and serve immediately.
