Lamb recipe in GreekNatural lamb cutlets on the bone are baked in wine with olives, tomatoes and herbs.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 4 lamb cutlets on the bone
  • 6 tomatoes, halved
  • 1 red onion, sliced ​​into rings
  • 4 unpeeled garlic cloves
  • 75 g Greek olives
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tsp. cane sugar
  • 4 tbsp red wine
  • 1 tbsp. wine vinegar
  • Salt and ground black pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C. In a large baking dish, arrange the meat, tomatoes (cut side up), onion, garlic, and olives. Sprinkle with oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper, and drizzle with wine and vinegar.
  2. Bake for 15 minutes or until done to your liking (the tomatoes should burst and the lamb should be golden brown). Serve immediately, basting with any liquid from the pan.
