This summer cocktail is bursting with refreshing citrus, mint, and basil flavors. Made with sparkling sake, it's perfect for summer pool parties or barbecues. Serve very chilled in tall glasses.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 fresh basil leaf, chopped
  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 twists of lemon zest
  • 2 orange slices
  • A quarter of a very chilled cucumber, remove the seeds and cut into cubes
  • 45 ml orange liqueur (recommended: Cointreau)
  • Ice cubes
  • 250 ml. sparkling sake

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine basil, mint, lemon, orange, cucumber, and orange liqueur in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, cover, and shake or stir vigorously until smooth and completely chilled, about 30 seconds. The drink is usually ready when the shaker begins to fog up. Strain into a chilled collins glass and top with sparkling sake. Enjoy.
