Looking for a tasty Halloween drink? Transform the classic Shirley Temple into a spooky, bloody treat with gummy eyeballs. This non-alcoholic version is perfect for kids' parties, but if you're looking for a drink for adults, consider adding a splash of gin or vodka.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup grenadine
  • 8-10 drops of red food coloring
  • 7 cups lemon-lime soda
  • 2 cups unflavored sparkling water, such as seltzer
  • 8 gummy eyeballs
  • Special equipment: 6-8 multi-colored paper straws

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Combine corn syrup, grenadine, and food coloring in a small bowl; set aside.
  2. Pour lemon-lime soda and seltzer water into a large pitcher. For each serving, fill a 0.5-liter glass halfway with ice. Pour the soda into the glass, leaving about an inch of the glass below the rim.

  3. Add 2 tablespoons of the red mixture along the inside edge of the glass. Let the mixture slowly drip into the drink. Garnish with a gummy eye and a straw and serve immediately.

    Note

For an alcoholic version, add 60 ml of gin or vodka to each glass (or 2 tbsp of gin or vodka to a pitcher).
