Bacon, Cheddar, and Chive Scones - A Detailed Recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 7 slices of bacon
  • 3 cups premium flour
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 170 g cold butter, grated
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 220°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a heavy-bottomed skillet, fry the bacon over medium heat until crisp and browned. Drain on paper towels. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.

  3. Using a food processor or your hands, combine the butter with the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add the Cheddar cheese, onion, and cooked bacon. Mix until evenly distributed.

    Add the buttermilk and stir. Using a pastry bag, transfer the batter to the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each batter. cookies about 4 cm on each side.
  4. Bake until the cookies are golden brown on top, about 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Serve the cookies with melted butter.
