Baked apples with bacon - a detailed recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 12 strips smoked bacon
  • 4-6 sprigs of thyme, leaves only
  • 3-4 medium apples
  • 150 gr. grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp. very fine sugar
  • Arugula
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 190°C.

    Place the bacon on a baking sheet, sprinkle some of the prepared thyme leaves on top and bake for 12-15 minutes, until crispy.
  • Step 2
  • Slice the apples horizontally. On a separate baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arrange the apples in a single layer and drizzle with a little olive oil. Sprinkle with sugar and thyme, sprinkle the bottom halves with cheddar, and top with bacon. Bake in the oven until the apples begin to dry out and the cheese is melted, about 30-35 minutes.

    To serve, garnish with arugula and serve.
