A simple dessert that leaves your plates sparkling clean. The apples are delicious on their own, but the ice cream melting on top elevates the dish to perfection. You can adjust the amount of spices to suit your taste preferences.


Ingredients:

  • 4 large green apples
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) butter
  • 3 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of ground cloves or 1 whole
  • 470 ml. vanilla ice cream
  • 1 can of whipped cream
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Heat a small skillet over medium-high heat. Peel the apples and cut them into quarters. Remove the core from each quarter. Slice the quarters. Add butter to the skillet, then add the apples. Cook for 7-8 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Add sugar, cinnamon, and cloves and cook for another 2 minutes. Transfer the fried apples to dessert bowls, top with ice cream, whipped cream, and grated nutmeg.
