Apples in dough with cinnamon and glaze

A wonderful, healthy, delicious, and easy-to-make dessert—apples baked in puff pastry. The sweetness of the filling balances harmoniously with the tartness of the apples, while the dough prevents the juices from leaking out and keeps the apples tender. Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted by the glaze and a scoop of vanilla ice cream next to the apples in the puff pastry. This puff pastry can be made any time of year, as this fruit is known for its shelf life, and stores offer varieties to suit every taste.
Ingredients:
Apples in dough
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 4 small sour apples
- 0.5 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 tbsp. crushed walnuts
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 4 tsp butter
- Beat 1 large egg with 1 tbsp water for the egg wash
Glaze
- 0.5 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp (30 g) butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:
- Step 1
- Preheat oven to 190°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Step 2
- Puff pastry with applesRoll out the dough into a 30cm x 30cm square and cut into 15cm squares. Peel and core the apples, then place one on each square of dough. Step 3
- Combine brown sugar, raisins, pecans, cinnamon, lemon zest, and lemon juice in a bowl. Fill the core of each apple with the mixture. Top with 1 teaspoon of butter. Brush the edges of the dough with the egg mixture, then lift the edges of the dough and press them together to seal. Step 4
- Transfer the apples to the prepared baking sheet and brush with the remaining egg mixture. Bake for about 30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are soft.

Step 5 - GlazeIn a small skillet over medium heat, combine the powdered sugar, butter, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup water. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.
Frost the baked apples in the dough and serve with vanilla ice cream.
