This easy-to-make and unique appetizer, featuring a filling of Brie cheese, walnuts, and cinnamon baked into a puff pastry crust until golden brown, makes a wonderful addition to any cheese platter.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 head (225 g) brie cheese
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, packaged
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 beaten egg for greasing
  • Crackers, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.

    Defrost the puff pastry for about 15-20 minutes and unfold.

    Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Toast the walnuts in the butter until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Add the cinnamon and stir well.

    Place walnuts on top of the brie and sprinkle the mixture with brown sugar. Lay the puff pastry out on a flat surface. Place the cheese in the center of the pastry. Fold the edges of the pastry around the cheese and pinch them together.

    Carefully pinch the edges of the dough together and tie them with a piece of kitchen string. Brush the top and sides with beaten egg. Place the cheese-covered dough on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown.

    Serve with crackers.

    To decorate this dish, cut out hearts or flowers from excess dough and bake until golden brown.
