Figs in Pastry is a fun party appetizer that's sure to please your guests. Juicy fig slices are placed on a slice of goat cheese, wrapped in strips of pastry so half the fig is visible, and baked in the oven. This recipe uses store-bought puff pastry, cut into thin strips. After baking, the figs become even juicier and develop a richer flavor, which pairs beautifully with the tart, creamy flavor of the cheese and the crisp, flaky crust.

Recipe:
Cut a sheet of thawed puff pastry into five strips lengthwise, then cut crosswise into thirds to make 15 rectangles. Cut each rectangle diagonally to make 30 triangles. Spread 1/2 teaspoon of goat cheese on each triangle and top with a quartered fig. Wrap the pastry around the fig and press to seal. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush the pastry with beaten egg, and bake at 200°C (400°F) until golden brown, 18-20 minutes.
