Sausages in dough


How to Make Sausages in Dough

"Nobody serves sausage rolls for the holidays anymore, but they're so delicious!" says Aina. "You can make them with any kind of frying sausage or hot dogs."

Ingredients:

  • 450 g thin long sausages for frying
  • 1 pack (500g) of frozen puff pastry with two layers, thaw in the refrigerator overnight
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp. milk, for the liaison
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 200°C. Place sausages on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Then turn the sausages over and bake for another 5-10 minutes, until cooked through. Cool to room temperature.
  • Step 2
  • Place the dough on a lightly floured cutting board and roll it out in one direction. Cut each layer in half and spread with mustard.

    Place the sausages on the long edge of the dough and roll tightly into a roll. Seal the end of the dough, brushing the edge with water. Repeat with the remaining layers of dough.

    Place the rolls seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread with the liaison. Make 7 diagonal slits on each roll. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

  • Cut the rolls into slices and serve with mustard.
