Braising allows the beer and spices to infuse the sausages. You'll get a great crust without having to spend a lot of time at the grill.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1.3 kg pre-cooked sausages for frying
  • 6 cups German light beer
  • 1 tbsp. cumin
  • 1 tbsp. coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 3 large onions, unpeeled, coarsely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp. l. rapeseed oil

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat the grill to high. Combine the beer, cumin, coriander, and mustard seeds, onion, garlic, and ginger in a large stockpot. Add the sausages. Place the pan on the grill grate and bring to a simmer. Simmer the sausages for about 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the pan from the grill and let the sausages sit in the liquid for about 30 minutes. Transfer the sausages to a plate or cutting board.

    Brush the sausages with canola oil and grill until crispy and golden brown, 4-6 minutes per side. Keep warm until serving.
