Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Place the peppers in a large skillet, add the olive oil, vinegar, sugar, granulated garlic, salt, and black pepper, and toss to coat. Place the skillet over medium-high heat and cook the peppers until slightly softened, 3 to 5 minutes.
- Place sausages between peppers and reduce heat to low, then cover and simmer until sausages are heated through to about 145°F (63°C), 5 to 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the sausage from the pan and grill until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), about 10 minutes. Return the sausages to the pan, seasoning them with pepper, and serve.
