Even those who say they don't like Brussels sprouts won't be able to resist this side dish. It's aromatic, spicy, and sweet and tangy. Simmer the Brussels sprouts with onions and bell peppers in a spice mixture with honey and wine vinegar and serve alongside meat.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 fresh bay leaf
  • Half a red onion, chopped
  • Half a red bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tsp. mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 900 g of Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tbsp celery salt
  • Black pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a skillet, whisk together the vinegar, honey, and broth. Add the bay leaf, onion, peppercorns, mustard seeds, and turmeric, stir, and bring to a boil.
  2. Trim the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half. Add them to the pan and sprinkle with celery salt and pepper.

  3. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, then remove the lid and cook for another 5 minutes.
