Recipe for a side dish of fried Brussels sprouts with shallots.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 500 gr. Brussels sprouts, chop
  • 4 shallots, cut lengthwise into small wedges
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 5 tbsp (75 g) butter
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. sugar

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a shallow frying pan, sauté the shallots in 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat, covered, for about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Add the apple cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sugar and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Set aside in a separate bowl.
  2. Fry in butter (2 tbsp) at medium temperature Brussels sproutsSimmer for 5 minutes, season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Add a tablespoon of butter and 1/2 cup of water, and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the fried shallots.
