Fried sausages with milk sauce - detailed recipe.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 500g frying sausages (such as Irish, Italian, French sausages)
  • 1 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 3 onions, white and green parts separated, cut into rings
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 clove of garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 tsp ground allspice
  • 3/4 cup lightly salted chicken broth
  • 1 1/4 cups milk

We recommend

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Heat olive oil in a frying pan. Add the sausage and cook, turning, until cooked through, about 10 minutes. Transfer the sausage to a platter and baste with the fat, reserving 2 tablespoons of the fat in the pan.
  2. Add the white parts of the green onions, bell pepper, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and pepper to taste to the same pan and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes. Add the flour, reduce the heat to medium, and cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes. Add the garlic, Worcestershire sauce, allspice, chicken broth, and milk. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 6 minutes. Add the green parts of the onions and season with salt and pepper.

  3. Divide the sausages into portions and pour over the milk sauce.
