Bratwurst (fried sausages) in beer - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1.4 kg of cooked bratwurst sausages (pierce the skin with a fork)
  • 6 cups German light beer
  • 1 tbsp. caraway seeds
  • 1 tbsp. coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 3 large onions, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 2 whole crushed cloves of garlic
  • 1 piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced ​​8 cm long.
  • 2 tbsp. l. canola oil

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat grill to high heat over direct heat.

    Combine the beer, cumin, coriander, mustard seeds, onion, garlic, and ginger in a large saucepan. Then add the sausages. Place the pan on the grill grate and bring the liquid to a gentle simmer.

    Cook the sausages until half-cooked, about 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the grill and let the sausages sit in the liquid for 30 minutes.
  2. Transfer the bratwurst to a plate or cutting board and strain the liquid into a bowl, discarding any solids.

    Brush the sausages with canola oil and grill until the casings are crispy and golden brown, 4-6 minutes per side. Keep warm until serving.
