This unique twist on sausage rolls is perfect for house parties. To make them, you'll need small (cocktail) sausages. Each one is dipped in corn batter, then wrapped in curly fries and deep-fried. A favorite appetizer all in one! For easier handling, thread the sausages onto wooden skewers. Serve with spicy mayonnaise dipping sauce.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Make sausages in dough:

In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, and paprika. Add the egg and milk and whisk until a thick batter forms, adding more milk if the batter is too dry. Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C) on a deep-fry thermometer. Dip the sausages in the batter, then carefully wrap each sausage in a spiral of French fries. If desired, thread the sausages onto wooden skewers and then wrap them in French fries.

  3. Fry the sausages in hot oil, a few at a time, turning, until golden brown on all sides, 3-4 minutes. Transfer with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain excess fat; sprinkle with salt.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce.:

Combine Sriracha sauce, lime juice, and mayonnaise in a bowl. Serve with sausage rolls.
