Baked Green Beans with Bacon

Fresh green beans are tossed in olive oil with chopped bacon and onion and baked in the oven until crispy. Together with the onion, the bacon imbues the green beans with a unique flavor and mouth-watering aroma. This side dish is a favorite for everyone. It's delicious, healthy, and, most importantly, easy to prepare.


Ingredients:

  • 1.8 kg fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 16 thin slices bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 220°C.
  • Step 2
  • Place the beans on 1 or 2 baking sheets. Sprinkle with bacon and onion, add olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat all the beans.
  • Step 3
  • Bake until the bacon is sizzling and the beans are beginning to darken, 18 to 20 minutes.
