Ice cream, which originated in ancient times as ice and snow, with fruit or juice, has undergone significant changes throughout history and acquired a multitude of varieties. Nowadays, ice cream is not only eaten on its own, but also used to create complex, multi-layered desserts. But these unusual banana and ice cream sandwiches are easy to make at home. They are a truly festive treat and combine several incredibly delicious ingredients: ice cream, chocolate, caramel, bananas, and chocolate chip cookies.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450 gr. raw chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
  • 2 (40 g each) caramel bars, cut into 6 mm pieces.
  • 2 medium bananas, peeled and cut into 6 mm slices.
  • 500 ml vanilla or banana ice cream, softened

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Position a rack in the middle of the oven. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Roll the cookie dough into 12 equal-sized balls and place them on an ungreased baking sheet, pressing them down slightly. Bake for 16-18 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. Cool for 10 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely, about 20 minutes.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Spread melted chocolate over the tops of 6 cookies. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment or waxed paper. Sprinkle candy bar pieces over the melted chocolate.
  5. Place the remaining cookies flat-side up on the same baking sheet. Arrange the banana slices on top of the cookies in a single layer. Freeze for 45-60 minutes, until the chocolate has set and the banana slices are frozen solid.
  6. Using an ice cream scoop, spoon about 1/3 cup soft-serve ice cream over the frozen bananas. Top with a chocolate-covered cookie and gently press to form a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining ice cream and cookies. Freeze for 3-4 hours until the sandwich is firm.
