Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup premium wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 120 g butter, room temperature
  • Coarse granulated sugar or brown sugar, for sprinkling (optional)
  • 3/4 cup pistachios, almonds, pecans, peanuts, or hazelnuts
  • Jam, chocolate spread, melted chocolate, for filling
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a food processor, process the nuts, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar into fine crumbs. Add the flour, cinnamon, and salt and mix until smooth. Add the butter and mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Step 2
  • Using a teaspoon, form small balls of dough and place them on prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2.5 cm apart. Lightly press the balls with your fingers and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Press a whole nut into each cookie or sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  • Step 3
  • Bake the cookies in the oven until lightly golden brown, about 15 minutes. Cool completely, spread half of the cookies with your choice of filling, and top with the other halves.
