If you're a big peanut butter fan, or just looking for a chocolate frosting alternative, this recipe is for you. Peanut butter frosting is incredibly delicious and, once set, becomes as crunchy as chocolate. You can drizzle it over ice cream, fruit, or even chocolate for a more complex flavor. Soften the peanut butter in the microwave and mix it with vegetable shortening. Coconut oil is best, as it will impart a subtle coconut flavor to your frosting.
