A hot cheese sandwich will be even more flavorful if you use a few simple tricks. For example, spread the outside not just with butter, but with a mixture of butter and mayonnaise. The crust will be perfectly golden brown, super crisp, and delicious. A touch of smoked paprika will infuse the sandwich with a rich, warm aroma. And for the filling, use grated cheddar and cream cheese for a double cheesy delight. This mouth-watering, delicious, and crunchy sandwich with its gooey filling makes a great addition to breakfast or a filling snack throughout the day.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 4 tbsp (60 g) butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup grated cheddar

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. In a small bowl, combine the butter, mayonnaise, and smoked paprika, distributing the ingredients evenly. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Lightly spread one side of each slice of bread with the mayonnaise mixture. Add the cream cheese to the remaining mayonnaise mixture and mix well to distribute evenly. Spread some of the cream cheese mixture on the other side of each slice of bread.

  3. Sprinkle cheddar on the cheese side of 4 slices of bread. Top with the remaining 4 slices. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Flip the sandwiches, place another heavy skillet on top, and cook until the bread is golden brown on the other side and the cheese is melted, about 4 minutes.
