Recipes with similar ingredients: sourdough bread, Gouda cheese, pimento pepper, olive, dill, adobo sauce, Dijon mustard
Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each slice of bread. Place one slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, in the skillet. Top with the jalapeño-pimento cheese spread.
- Place the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side up, on top of the cheese. Press the pieces together with a spatula and fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Slice and serve as an appetizer with crackers and olives.
Jalapeño Pimento Cheese Spread:
Combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, adobo sauce, Dijon mustard, black pepper, cayenne pepper or hot sauce, and salt in the bowl of a food processor. Blend until smooth. Add most of the Cheddar and Gouda, reserving about 2 tablespoons of each, and blend again until smooth. Add the mixture to the remaining cheese and fold with a spatula. Stir in the pimento, jalapeño, and dill, and refrigerate before serving.
