Hot sandwich with cheese, bacon, egg and maple syrup

How to Make - Hot Sandwich with Cheese, Bacon, Egg, and Maple Syrup
Kitchen:American,
Menu:Breakfast,
Time: 45 min.
Complexity: easily
Servings: 4

This hearty, hot sandwich with melted cheese, a fried egg, and crispy bacon is perfect for breakfast, a hearty snack, or a light dinner. All the flavors of its ingredients meld perfectly, and the sweet maple syrup harmoniously complements the smoky, salty flavor of the bacon. Bake the bacon in maple syrup in the oven and fry the eggs separately in a frying pan. Then assemble the sandwich and toast it until golden brown and the cheese melts deliciously inside.

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of fatty bacon
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 7 tbsp softened butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 9 slices of cheddar (about 200 g), one slice cut into 4 pieces
  • 8 slices brioche, 0.8-1 cm thick.
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place bacon slices on a rack set over a baking sheet. Bake until the fat begins to render, about 10 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Brush both sides of the bacon with maple syrup and continue baking until caramelized and the edges begin to brown, another 10-15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Once cool, cut the bacon slices in half.
  • Step 3
  • In a large nonstick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon (15 g) butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until set, 3-4 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
  • Step 4
  • Place 4 slices of bread on a work surface. Top each with 1 whole slice of cheese, 3 slices of bacon, 1/4 slice of cheese, 1 egg, and 1 more whole slice of cheese. Top the sandwiches with the remaining bread. Spread the remaining butter thinly on both sides of each sandwich (you should use about 1.5 tablespoons per serving).
  • Step 5
  • Place 2 sandwiches in the same skillet over medium heat. Cover the skillet and cook until the bread is evenly browned, about 2 minutes. Flip and cook until the bread is toasted on the other side and the cheese is melted, about 2 more minutes. Repeat with the remaining sandwiches.
