Manhattan cocktail with maple syrup

Take Jeff Mauro's tip and add a splash of maple syrup to the classic Manhattan to transform the traditional drink into a more sophisticated cocktail.


Ingredients:

  • 60 ml rye whiskey
  • 15 ml. dry vermouth
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup
  • A little bitter tincture (1/3 tsp)
  • Ice
  • Canned cherries
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Pour whiskey, vermouth, maple syrup, and bitters into a cocktail shaker. Shake well, then pour over a large chunk of ice into a large rocks glass. Garnish with a cherry on a skewer and enjoy.
