Chocolate-covered strawberries are a low-calorie dessert that's a perfect addition to any holiday, especially Valentine's Day or March 8th. To treat your loved ones to this luxurious treat, you don't need to go to a baker or buy them at exorbitant prices. With this step-by-step recipe, you'll make beautiful chocolate-covered strawberries like a pro. All you need is the berries and dark and white chocolate. Choose large berries with long stems—they'll be easier to dip into the icing. And if you're making this delicious surprise as a gift, don't forget a beautiful box to hold the strawberries.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Place the dark and white chocolate in two separate heatproof bowls. Pour 2 inches of water into two medium saucepans and bring to a boil over medium heat. Turn off the heat and place the bowls with the chocolate on the saucepans to melt. Stir until smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate in the microwave on medium power for 1 minute, stir, and then heat for another minute, or until melted.
- Once the chocolate has melted and is smooth, remove it from the heat. Line a baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip it into the dark chocolate, lift it, and twist it slightly to allow the excess to drip back into the bowl. Place the strawberries on the parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining berries. Dip a fork into the white chocolate and drizzle the white chocolate over the dark chocolate-covered strawberries.
- Set the berries aside to let the chocolate set, about 30 minutes.
