If you're looking for a snack to serve your guests before Christmas dinner, consider this gingerbread-flavored nut mix. The aroma sets the mood for the holidays and lifts the spirits. This recipe's blend of pecans, almonds, and sesame seeds is crunchy, sweet, and salty—it's hard to stop!



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 and 1/3 cups pecans
  • 1 and 1/3 cups almonds
  • 1 and 1/3 tbsp. salted straws with sesame seeds

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Beat 1 egg white with 1/4 cup light brown sugar, adding 2 teaspoons gingerbread spice mix, 1 teaspoon coarse salt, and 1/2 teaspoon each paprika and black pepper. Add 1 1/3 cups each pecans and almonds; stir to combine.
  2. Spread the mixture evenly on a rimmed baking sheet and bake at 325°F (160°C), stirring every 10 minutes, until the whites are almost dry but still slightly sticky, about 25 minutes. Add 1 1/3 cups sesame seeds 5 minutes before the end of the baking. Let the mixture cool.
