A step-by-step recipe for homemade chocolate-hazelnut spread using dark chocolate and hazelnuts.


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate (90 g)
  • 3/4 cup toasted hazelnuts (120 g)
  • 2/3 cup condensed milk with sugar
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1/8 tsp coarse salt
  • Toasted baguette slices
  • Sliced ​​fruit such as apples, pears, pineapple and/or bananas
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Place the chopped chocolate in a small bowl and set it over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Cool to room temperature.

    Chef's tip: You can also melt chocolate in the microwave. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals until very soft. Stir until completely melted and smooth.

  • Step 2
  • Pulse the nuts in a food processor until they form a paste (the nut mixture will stick to the sides of the bowl), about 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Add the condensed milk, honey, and salt. Mix well, scraping down the sides as needed. Add the cooled chocolate and pulse until fully combined. Transfer the chocolate-hazelnut spread to a small bowl.

  • Preheat oven to 180°C and roast the hazelnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet for 15-18 minutes. Cool completely before using.
