Recipe for making yogurt at home.


Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 1 cup low-fat cream (10-12%)
  • 1 tbsp. l. natural yogurt
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine milk and cream in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over low heat. Remove from heat and pour into a clean bowl. Let cool to 115°F (46°C). Add yogurt and stir vigorously.
  • Step 2
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, then wrap it in a thick towel or blanket. Leave it in a warm place for 6-8 hours, or longer, according to taste. The longer the yogurt sits, the more tart it will be. Store in lidded containers in the refrigerator.
