This super simple, crispy crust is perfect for a medium-sized pie and requires just two ingredients you probably already have on hand. You can make several at a time and freeze them for future culinary experiments.


Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups premium flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup ice water
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • Place the margarine, flour, and salt in a medium bowl and begin chopping with a knife. Add ice water 1 teaspoon at a time until you have a loose dough. Roll the dough out to fit a 9-inch (23 cm) baking pan. Refrigerate until needed.
