Homemade peanut butter

How to Make Peanut Butter at Home
Time: 5 min.

Nuts with a high oil content are very perishable and can go rancid quickly. Choose vacuum-sealed bags. Store nuts in a cool, dry place in an airtight container to prevent them from absorbing other food odors. If desired, substitute cashews for peanuts. Cashew butter, like any nut butter, can be used as a spread on bread, in baking cookies, or in dipping sauces.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups unsalted roasted cashews or peanuts
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, optional
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.
