To make candied orange peel at home, simply boil orange zest in sugar syrup and then roll it in sugar. The candied peel can be used in various desserts, as a garnish, or simply eaten as candy.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Carefully remove the orange zest, being careful not to cut into the white pith, then cut the zest into 0.5cm wide strips.
- In a saucepan, pour 1 cup of cold water over the zest, bring to a boil, and simmer for 7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves and the syrup comes to a boil. Add the zest, reduce the heat, and simmer, swirling the saucepan occasionally, for 20 minutes. Transfer the candied fruit to a wire rack to cool for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of sugar onto a baking sheet. Add the candied fruit and roll in the sugar to coat. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 30 minutes.
