Margarita lovers will appreciate this new twist on the popular drink and the unusual presentation of blood orange wedges. The cocktail is made with blood orange-flavored soda. Its sweet and sour flavor pairs beautifully with tequila and makes a great alternative to the traditional lime juice used in this drink. Pour the alcoholic jelly mixture into orange peel halves, let the jelly set, and then cut into wedges. These shots will add a touch of fun to your house party, and no glass will be broken!

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Cut the oranges in half and carefully scoop out the pulp, membrane, and white pith with a spoon. Place the orange peels in muffin tins or press them tightly into a baking dish to keep them stable and prevent them from tipping.
  2. Pour 0.5 cups of cold water into a bowl, add the gelatin, and let sit for 2 minutes to soften. Add 3/4 cup of boiling water and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in the sugar until completely dissolved. Cool the mixture to room temperature, then stir in the blood orange soda, tequila, and orange liqueur. Spoon the mixture over the orange peels. Refrigerate overnight.

  3. Carefully cut each orange half into 2 pieces and serve.
