Store-bought margarita mix typically includes one or more citrus juices, sugar, or syrup. In this recipe, the mix takes on an unexpected role: it's used to marinate shrimp before grilling. The seafood is infused with citrus flavor, making a great topping for Mexican nachos.


Ingredients:

  • 200 g shrimp in Margarita mix
  • 1.5 cups grated white cheddar
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

  • Marinate 200g shrimp in Margarita mix with cayenne pepper; grill. Top with lime-flavored chips and 1.5 cups each grated white cheddar and Muenster. Bake, then top with grilled shrimp, diced onion, avocado, cilantro, and lime juice.
