Infuse fresh salsa with tropical flavor by replacing tomatoes with ripe mango slices. The combination of sweet fruit, spicy chili pepper, and fragrant cilantro is simply sublime! Pour a margarita base over the salsa for a refreshing citrusy twist, and serve as an appetizer with tortilla chips.


Ingredients:

  • 3 mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 0.5 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 red jalapeño or serrano, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 tbsp Margarita base
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • Place mango, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, green onion, and 1 tablespoon margarita base in a large bowl.
  • Step 2
  • Stir and taste, adding more Margarita base if needed. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
