Instead of traditional tortillas, these tacos are served on sturdy lettuce leaves. This makes a low-calorie, light, summery, and impressive appetizer for a family celebration. For the taco filling, grill beef flank steak, marinating it in a mixture of oranges, onions, light beer, and garlic. This marinade, at room temperature, will quickly infuse the meat with its flavors and make it tender; you only need to sear the steak whole for a few minutes. Cook it to medium-rare to experience all the juiciness and rich flavor of the beef. Top the thin slices of steak with salsa and avocado.

1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.

1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:
Steak
- 1 orange with peel, thinly sliced, divided
- Half an onion, peeled and thinly sliced, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, halved and crushed, separated
- 1 kg flank steak
- 1 cup light beer, preferably lager
Salsa
- 1/3 cup lightly salted soy sauce
- Juice of 1 large lime
- Half a serrano pod, seeded and finely chopped
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tsp chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 head of lettuce, leaves separated
- 1 avocado, peeled, pitted and thinly sliced

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
Steak:
Arrange half the orange slices, half the onion slices, and half the garlic pieces in the bottom of a glass dish large enough to accommodate the steak. Season the flank steak with salt and black pepper and place it in the prepared glass dish. Arrange the remaining oranges, onion, and garlic on top of the steak and pour the beer over it. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature for 1 hour or refrigerate overnight.- Place a grill pan over medium-high heat, or preheat a gas or charcoal grill.
- Remove the meat from the marinade. The marinade is no longer needed. Grill the steak to your desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes. Transfer the grilled steak to a cutting board and slice across the grain into strips.

In a small bowl, combine all salsa ingredients.For assembly:
Assemble the tacos by arranging the steak and avocado pieces among the lettuce leaves. Drizzle with salsa.
Note: Marinated steak can also be grilled in the oven.
