How to Make an Arnold Palmer with Green Tea
Go back Print version

Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Complexity: easily
Servings: 6-8

The Arnold Palmer, named after the American golfer who invented it, is nothing more than iced sweet tea with lemonade. Although the original recipe for this non-alcoholic cocktail calls for black tea, green tea is also a great alternative. Steep tea bags in boiling water with sugar, then mix the tea with cold water and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Serve chilled. This drink not only quenches thirst and invigorates, but also contains a wealth of vitamin C and antioxidants, which are so abundant in green tea.

Recipe:

Combine 4 cups water with 3/4 cup sugar and bring to a boil; stir to dissolve the sugar. Let cool for 5 minutes. Add 8 green tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and gently squeeze the liquid out; pour the tea into a pitcher. Stir in 3 cups cold water and 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 3 lemons). Refrigerate. Serve with ice and lemon wedges.
