Make mashed potatoes with milk and butter and add a couple of tablespoons of prepared horseradish for a more piquant flavor. The resulting side dish is very aromatic, delicious, and has a pleasant texture. Sprinkle with fresh green onions and serve with any meat, fish, or mushroom dish.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Place the potatoes in a saucepan, cover with cold water, and add 2 tablespoons of coarse salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and simmer, uncovered, until tender, about 45 minutes. Drain and cool the potatoes, then peel and transfer to a bowl.
- Add butter, milk, 2 teaspoons of coarse salt, and pepper to taste to the potatoes; mash with a potato masher or fork. Stir in the horseradish. Transfer to a serving platter, sprinkle with green onions, and serve.
