Mashed potatoes with green onions are one of the most beloved Irish potato dishes. A bowl of mashed potatoes with a sprinkling of green onions and a pat of melting butter in the center is the most satisfying and satisfying meal.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

- 6-8 tubers of unpeeled "old" potatoes
- 1 bunch green onions (use stems and bulbs)
- 350 ml. (1.5 tbsp.) milk
- 55-110 g butter
- Salt and ground black pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Wash the potatoes with a brush and boil them in their skins. Finely chop the green onions. Pour cold milk over them and slowly bring to a boil.
Simmer for 3-4 minutes, reduce heat, and let steep. Peel and mash the freshly boiled potatoes while still hot, and mix with the hot milk and onion. Stir in the butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve in 1 large bowl or 6 individual bowls with a knob of butter in the center.
The puree can be stored and later reheated in the oven at 180°C. Cover with foil while reheating to prevent a skin from forming.
